Faces get on without Rod Stewart?

_46438557_faces1_226bbcThe BBC reports:

70’s band The Faces are to unite for a one time charity show at London’s Royal Albert Hall in late October.

But most famous Face Rod Stewart will not take part, with a lineup of guest singers  due to take his place.

Ronnie Wood will be joined by former Faces Kenny Jones and Ian McLagan, and even former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman filling in for the late Ronnie Lane.

Other performing guests will include former-Spice Girl Melanie C, Georgie Fame, Kiki Dee and Mick Hucknall of Simply Red.

Monies from this event, to be held on Oct 25, will go to PRS (Performing Right Society) for Music Members’ Benevolent Fund.

Ronnie Lane’s widow Katy is one of the many to receive assistance from the charity, which helps musicians, songwriters and their families in financial difficulties.

“This will be so special for us, staging a reunion for such a wonderful and prestigious event,” said Wood.

“Sadly Ronnie Lane can’t be with us, but I’m sure he will be there in spirit, God bless him.”
